(CNN) – President Donald Trump has signed an executive order that increases entry fees for foreign tourists visiting national parks.
Trump directed Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to develop a plan to increase revenue at national parks across the country.
As part of that effort, Trump ordered that non-residents pay more for passes to the parks.
The president says money from the fees will go toward improving national park infrastructure.
Trump’s latest order also revoked a memorandum signed by former President Barack Obama in January 2017. It promoted diversity and inclusion in United States national parks, forests, and other public lands or waters.
